Attendance
At Montrose Bay High School, Every School Day Matters and regular attendance is essential for student success. We work closely with families to support consistent school attendance and address barriers that may arise. Teachers and Year Level Leaders monitor patterns and provides early intervention to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive. Maintaining consistent attendance helps students:
At MBHS, we recognise and celebrate regular student attendance with our ‘5 from 5’ process. Each week, students who attend school every day are recognised the following week on recognition boards in their year level space. Students who achieve multiple weeks in a row are recognised for being on active streaks. We also recognise and celebrate our ‘Attendance Champions’ – the students who achieve an attendance rate of 90% or higher in each term.
Communicating your child’s absence helps us support their learning and wellbeing. It ensures accurate records, enables timely follow-up, and helps us work with families to address any barriers to attendance. Every school day matters—please contact us as soon as possible if your child is away.
If your child is absent, please notify the school via our Absence Form or contact the office directly.
