Principal's Welcome
Welcome to Montrose Bay High School. Nestled beside the picturesque Derwent River in the north of Hobart, Montrose Bay High School is a vibrant community dedicated to fostering a love for learning and student growth. Our school is built on the core values of Courage, Growth, Respect, Responsibility and Connection, which guides everything we do.
At Montrose Bay High School, we empower our students to embrace life-long learning and work with our community to support academic, social, and emotional growth. Our mission is to provide best-practice teaching and learning programs that inspire and challenge our students to reach their full potential. We are committed to supporting diversity and ensuring that every student feels valued and included.
We facilitate smooth transitions for our students, from Year 6 to Year 7 with our feeder primary schools, and from Year 10 to Year 11 with Claremont College. As a proud member of the Derwent Collective, we collaborate with local schools to support consistent practices and advocate for all students in our area, with a strong focus on attendance and engagement.
We invite you to explore our website and discover the many opportunities available at Montrose Bay High School. Whether you are a current student, parent, or prospective family, we are here to support you on your educational journey.
Warm regards
Tim Nicholas
